Biography

Filó Machado is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, arranger, multi-instrumentalist, and producer born in Ribeirão Preto. Beginning his musical journey as a child performing in dance bands, he eventually moved to São Paulo, where he became a prominent figure in the vibrant nightlife and club scene of the 1970s. Over the decades, he has collaborated with numerous icons of Brazilian popular music, including Djavan, Leny Andrade, Alcione, and Simone, establishing a reputation for his sophisticated musicianship and rich compositional style.

Beyond his contributions to MPB in Brazil, Machado spent several years living and working in France, where he built a dedicated following and collaborated with international artists such as Michel Legrand. His extensive discography includes critically acclaimed albums like his self-titled debut, Origens, and Canto Fatal, showcasing his versatility on guitar, percussion, and keyboards. He remains a highly respected figure in Brazilian jazz and bossa nova, recognized both at home and abroad for his unique artistic voice.
