Biography

The band Filomena Bagaceira emerged in the year 2000 in the city of Salvador, Bahia, conceived by music producers with the aim of fusing the traditional sound of northeastern forró with modern elements and grand stage productions. Throughout its trajectory, the group stood out for energetic performances that bring together musicians, vocalists, and dancers, initially featuring singers Régia Saback and Léo Curvello. Over the years, the lineup underwent several updates, later featuring voices such as Mammá Di Souza, Sarah Reis, and Rayane Martins.

The group's recognition in the northeastern music scene was consolidated through participation in festivals, television programs, and major festive events, with a strong presence in the June festivities of Bahia and other states such as Sergipe, Pernambuco, Minas Gerais, and Rio de Janeiro. In 2004, the band released its first studio album, exploring variations such as xote, romantic forró, arrasta-pé, and vanerão, with standout songs like "Só Saio na Bagaceira" and "Tentei Te Esquecer". During that same period, the ensemble shared stages and lineups with important exponents of the genre, such as Flávio José and the band Limão com Mel.

Completing over two decades on the road, Filomena Bagaceira celebrated its twenty years of history in 2020 with the release of a commemorative audiovisual project. Staying active, the band continues to renew its repertoire and make its presence felt in the Bahian cultural scene, perpetuating the dynamism of electronic and stylized forró alongside other great names in northeastern music such as Mastruz com Leite and Aviões do Forró.
