Biography
Flávia Cavaca is a Brazilian musician with an established career stretching back to the 1970s. Her musical journey began with the band Paulo Bagunça e a Tropa Maldita, a group that emerged in Cruzada São Sebastião, in Rio de Janeiro. At that time, she already demonstrated versatility, playing with musicians like Macau, composer of "Olhos Coloridos".
Later in the 70s, Flávia Cavaca joined the group Veludo, where she explored the fusion of progressive rock with traditional samba, acting as a percussionist, acoustic guitarist, and person responsible for vocal arrangements. Her experience expanded into "rural rock", alongside Bull and Bill, partners of Raul Seixas, participating in events in tribute to the "Maluco Beleza".
Cavaca is widely recognized for having founded the band Sempre Livre in 1983, a milestone for being an all-female group that, besides singing, played instruments, breaking a paradigm at the time. The band stood out with hits like "Eu sou free" and explored pop rock with new wave influences. Flávia Cavaca is a bassist and vocalist, and her contribution to Brazilian music is marked by innovation and female strength in the rock scene.
