Biography

Flávio Oliveira de Oliveira, known artistically as Landau, was born in Alfenas, Minas Gerais, in 1978. He began his musical journey at the age of 15, studying drums and percussion. His career developed across various genres, passing through college rock bands and even accompanying sertanejo duos. In 1998, he adopted the pseudonym Landau and began composing his own songs, marking the beginning of his solo career. His music is known for an eclectic mix of influences, ranging from rock to folk, passing through elements of country and blues, with a characteristic touch of irreverence.

Throughout his career, Landau has released several albums, including "Chegue Perto de Mim" (1999), "Buraco e Quebra-Mola" (2001), "Forever" (2003), "O Predador do Asfalto" (2005), "Washington Del Buffalo" (2009), "Minha Vida Não Tem Freio" (2010), "Duetos e Versões Acústicas" (2012), "Casca Grossa" (2014), and "Retrovisor" (2020). He also stood out for composing soundtracks, such as the one for the "Lata Velha" segment on the "Caldeirão do Huck" show. His unique sound sets him apart in the Brazilian music scene, often being associated with artists like Zé Ramalho and Alceu Valença, but with his own identity that transitions between classic rock and regional music.

Landau is the brother of Rogério Flausino, vocalist of the band Jota Quest, and Wilson Sideral, both also musicians. Despite family connections to highly prominent artists, Landau has built a solid and authentic career, exploring his versatility and passion for music. His work is marked by poetry, irreverence, and the ability to mix styles, creating a sound that appeals to different audiences. He is an example of a multifaceted artist who continues to experiment and innovate on his musical journey.
