Biography

Flávio Miguel Villar de Lemos, born on October 29, 1963, is a Brazilian musician widely recognized as the bassist and a founding member of the seminal Brazilian rock band Capital Inicial. His musical journey began in Rio de Janeiro, but he moved to Brasília at a young age, where his passion for music truly ignited. Influenced by his mother's musicality and a formative year spent in England exposed to punk rock icons like The Clash and the Ramones, Lemos developed a distinct style that would shape the Brazilian rock scene.

Before co-founding Capital Inicial with his brother Fê Lemos, Flávio was a key member of the influential band Aborto Elétrico. During his time with Aborto Elétrico, he collaborated closely with Renato Russo, contributing to the writing of several significant songs that would later become anthems for Brazilian rock. This period was crucial in establishing his reputation as a talented songwriter and bassist within the burgeoning Brazilian punk and post-punk movement.

Since the formation of Capital Inicial in 1982, Flávio Lemos has been an integral part of the band's enduring success. His distinctive basslines have provided the rhythmic foundation for countless hits, cementing Capital Inicial's status as one of Brazil's most popular and long-standing rock acts.
