Biography

Forró Anjo Azul is a Brazilian musical group that emerged in 2006, primarily known for its fusion of forró rhythms with romantic melodies. The band was founded and is led by singer Willames Siqueira, who was born in Várzea Grande, Piauí. Before leading Forró Anjo Azul, Siqueira was part of other groups such as "Mala sem Alça," "Marcas da Paixão," "Amor Bandido," and "Sem Stress." His compositions have been recorded by renowned forró bands in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil.

In 2014, Forró Anjo Azul released a significant album that focused on romantic forró, earning them the moniker "Mais Romântico do que nunca" (More Romantic Than Ever). This period saw the band embark on extensive tours with elaborate stage and sound productions, achieving considerable popularity in the northern and northeastern parts of the country. By 2017, the group was performing an average of 20 shows per month and had sold over a million copies of their 9 CDs and 3 DVDs.

Another prominent figure associated with the band's early success is Berg Rabelo, a singer and composer who also had a notable career with bands like Caviar com Rapadura, Calcinha Preta, and Gatinha Manhosa. Rabelo was instrumental in the band's formation and initial trajectory, contributing to hits like "Alfabeto do Amor," "Agora É Tarde," and "Meu Anjo Azul," which gave the band its name. Forró Anjo Azul's music is characterized by its engaging rhythms and romantic lyrics, appealing to a wide audience across different age groups.
