Biography

Francisco, el Hombre was a Brazilian band formed in 2013 in Campinas, São Paulo, by Mexican-born brothers Sebastián and Mateo Piracés-Ugarte. The quintet was known for blending Brazilian rhythms with Latin American folk elements, creating a unique style they defined as pachanga folk. Their socially conscious lyrics and energetic performances earned them a Latin Grammy nomination in 2017 for the track "Triste, Louca ou Má".

Throughout their career, the band released several notable works, including their debut album SOLTASBRUXA in 2016, followed by Rasgacabeza in 2019 and Casa Francisco in 2021. Their music often featured collaborations with prominent national artists such as Liniker, Lenine, and Pato Fu, reflecting a diverse artistic exchange.

After years of independent touring across Latin America and releasing politically engaged music, the group announced an indefinite hiatus in 2024. Their legacy remains deeply tied to the alternative music scene in Brazil, bridging cultural gaps through bilingual songwriting and rhythmic fusion.
