Biography

Francineto Luz de Aguiar, better known by his stage name Frank Aguiar, was born in Itainópolis, in the state of Piauí, on September 18, 1970. A singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and presenter, he established himself as one of the most expressive figures of electronic forró and northeastern popular music in Brazil, recording his first studio album in the early 1990s. Throughout his musical career, the artist featured prominent line-ups in his backing band, having launched names that would go on to achieve enormous national success, such as the duo Simone & Simaria.

In addition to his artistic career on stage and in the studio, Frank Aguiar expanded his work into television and public life. In politics, he served as a federal deputy for São Paulo and acted as the vice mayor of São Bernardo do Campo, in addition to running for other legislative offices. On television, he hosted several radio and TV programs focused on the appreciation of popular culture, such as shows on RedeTV!, Rede Meio Norte, and TV Aparecida, always maintaining a strong connection with the northeastern public.

Recognized for his versatility and for albums of great popular repercussion, the artist built a vast discography that includes dozens of studio works and live recordings. His contribution to the dissemination of Northeastern rhythms placed him alongside important exponents of Brazilian music, such as the singer and songwriter Gilberto Gil, with whom he was even considered for roles in the country's cultural scene.
