Biography

Aline Frazão is an Angolan singer, songwriter, producer, and activist whose musical path has deep connections to Brazilian popular music and the bossa nova tradition. Born in Luanda, she began performing on stage at a young age and started writing her own songs influenced by Brazilian guitar styles and Portuguese fado. After living in Portugal and Spain, she launched her solo career with the album Clave Bantu, establishing her presence across the Lusophone world.

Throughout her career, Frazão has collaborated with various notable musicians and incorporated diverse acoustic and electric textures into her work. Her album Insular ventured into more atmospheric sounds recorded on a Scottish island, while her later project Dentro da Chuva was recorded in Rio de Janeiro with prominent Brazilian artists. Her work bridges the musical traditions of Angola, Brazil, and Portugal.

In addition to her discography, Frazão has composed for cinema, creating the soundtrack for the film Ar Condicionado. She remains active in cultural and feminist movements, balancing her musical pursuits with her civic engagement in Luanda.
