Biography

Fred Andrade is a highly accomplished Brazilian musician, composer, guitarist, and violonist hailing from Pernambuco. He holds a degree in music from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) and a Master's degree in musical creation and execution from the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA). Andrade has an extensive performance history, having accompanied numerous renowned artists such as Elba Ramalho, Dominguinhos, Quinteto Violado, and Naná Vasconcelos. His career also includes significant contributions to film soundtracks and jingles for various companies.

Andrade's discography features several solo albums, including "Ilusões a Granel" (2000), "Guitarra de Rua" (2005), "Farra de Anjo" (2006), and "Pele da Alma" (2009). He has also released instrumental works like "Umbral" (solo guitar), "Sacrifício pela Fé" (solo guitar), "Infinito" (a product of his master's research), and "Distantes." In collaboration with drummer Ebel Perrelli, he released the CD "Projeto Mandinga" in 2002 and the DVD "Mandinga (Duo)" in 2012. He is also a member of the instrumental group Sexteto Noise Viola, which has released two albums and two DVDs.

His international career includes three international tours where he conducted masterclasses and performed in conservatories across Europe and South America, including Paris, Valencia, Madrid, Amsterdam, Lisbon, Aveiro, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, and Santiago, Chile. Andrade has also been an educator, serving as a professor at the Pernambucan Conservatory of Music for twenty-two years and currently teaching at the Federal University of Sergipe. His work has been recognized with awards for best instrumental DVD and CD in Pernambuco for two consecutive years.
