Fred Zero Quatro, born Fred Rodrigues Montenegro in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, is a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, and journalist. He is best known as the lead vocalist and main composer of the influential Pernambucan band Mundo Livre S/A, playing a foundational role in the vibrant Manguebeat cultural movement of the 1990s alongside artists like Chico Science. His formative years were deeply shaped by opposition to the military dictatorship, leading him to political activism and an early fascination with punk rock before pioneering a unique blend of punk ethos, MPB, samba, and samba-rock.

Throughout his career with Mundo Livre S/A, he has released critically acclaimed albums such as their debut Samba Esquema Noise and Carnaval na Obra, earning widespread recognition including a spot on Rolling Stone Brasil's list of the greatest Brazilian artists. Alongside his musical contributions, he co-authored the seminal Manguebeat manifesto "Caranguejos com Cérebro" and has actively participated in cultural administration as an advisor and technical assistant for the Secretariat of Culture in Recife.
