Biography

Função RHK is a Brazilian rap group originating from Itapevi, São Paulo. The name stands for "Função Respeito, Humildade e Koragem," emphasizing the letter K in courage, and was founded in 1998 by artist TOM. In 2000, the group crossed paths with DJ and producer DJ Cia during an event at the Concha Acústica in Barueri, where they watched a performance by RZO. This encounter led Helião from RZO to invite TOM to participate in rehearsals and shows, integrating the group into the broader RZO family alongside acts like DBS, Sabotage, and Negra Lee for a period of three years.

Throughout their career, the band has collaborated with and made guest appearances on works by several notable hip-hop acts, including RZO, DBS e a Quadrilha, 509-E, Consciência X Atual, Nitro Di, and Edu Ribeiro. In 2006, they released their debut album, titled Eu Amo Você, which helped them earn nominations in multiple categories at the Prêmio Hutúz. Their momentum continued to build in 2008 when YouTube recognized them for having the most-watched music video of the month in September for the track Segura Us B.Ó.

The group later expanded their discography with the release of the album O Ataque in 2019. Over two decades since their inception, Função RHK remains an enduring presence in the underground São Paulo rap scene. Their trajectory reflects the collaborative and resilient spirit of Brazilian hip-hop, often intersecting with foundational figures of the genre like Sabotage and Helião.
