Biography

The band Furacão do Forró was formed in January 2007, in Fortaleza, Ceará, and quickly established itself as a force in the northeastern forró scene. Conceived by manager Tuta Sancho, the band emerged with the slogan "Abalando Tudo" and gained significant ground in the music market with its proposal of forró with hints of pop, energy, and interactivity. Its youthful and danceable identity blends the northeastern rhythm with modern elements, creating a sound that connects with multiple generations.

One of the band's first milestones was the release of the CD "Furacão do Forró - Abalando Tudo - Vol. 1", which reached the mark of 50,000 copies sold before their very first show, earning a Gold Record. Songs like "Tá Rolando um Zum Zum Zum", "Por Amor", and "É Meu Jeito" became hits, consolidating the group. The band also invested in audiovisual recordings, filming their first DVD in Itapebussu-CE in 2007 and a second promotional DVD in Teresina-PI in 2008.

Throughout its trajectory, Furacão do Forró featured vocalists such as Wylley Gomes and Mara Pavanelly, and stood out for its stage setup and the energy of its performances. The band is recognized for providing a "party, human warmth, and a lot of positive vibe," with a repertoire that invites the audience to sing along and dance. In 2021, forró — the musical genre of which the band is a part — was recognized as intangible cultural heritage of Brazil, reinforcing the importance of groups like Furacão do Forró in the preservation and diffusion of this rich cultural manifestation.
