Biography

Gabriel Barriga, better known by his stage name Abayomi, is a Brazilian musician, songwriter, and music producer. His passion for music began in childhood, influenced by his father, Cidinho, the founder of a musical group, and by his grandmother, Gabriela, who encouraged him to compose and play the acoustic guitar. By the age of fourteen, he was already performing in Presidente Prudente and the surrounding region, solidifying his desire to make a living from music.

In 2007, Gabriel Barriga began his professional career in São Paulo, where he currently resides. He stood out as a songwriter, having his songs recorded by renowned artists such as Thiaguinho, Exaltasamba, Sorriso Maroto, Preta Gil, Turma do Pagode, Péricles, Rodriguinho, and Gaab. Among his hits as a songwriter are "Caraca, Muleke!" and "Ainda Bem" (Thiaguinho), "Vai e Chora" (Sorriso Maroto), "Preservê" (Gaab), and "Tá Fácil" (Preta Gil).

In addition to being a songwriter, Gabriel Barriga is also a member of Thiaguinho's band and has delved into music production, producing his own tracks. Under the stage name Abayomi, he launched his solo project, which moves through genres such as R&B and pagode. The "Abayomi" project features 14 original tracks and collaborations with artists such as Gaab, Thiaguinho, and Márcio Victor, demonstrating his versatility and his desire to express his art through his own voice.
