Biography
Gabriel Milliet is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist born in São Paulo on September 19, 1988. He is also a former voice actor, having participated in the dubbing of "Achados e Perdidos," the first game dubbed in Brazil. In 2016, Milliet moved to Amsterdam, Netherlands, where he continued to develop his musical career, composing songs that reflect his experiences as an immigrant, blending saudade (longing) with a sense of displacement and belonging.
His musical journey includes collaborations with Brazilian bands such as Memórias de um Caramujo and Grand Bazaar. He also contributed to "Saudade dos meus velhos amigos," an unreleased track by Gabriel Milliet featured on the Selo RISCO compilation. Milliet's work as a session musician is notable, with contributions on saxophone and flute for the band O Terno on their album "Melhor do que Parece," and also on "Medo" and "Desaparecido" from their album "O Terno." He also played saxophone and flute on "Nó," "Não Espero Mais," and "Melhor do que Parece," and flute on "Nó" and "Volta."
In 2023, Gabriel Milliet released his debut solo album, "Um," produced alongside Biel Basile and released by Matraca Records/YB Music. The album, recorded across two continents, features tracks like "Silêncio Brutal," "O Sol e o Mar," "Carta de Natal," "Grande Hotel São João," "Vento de Oyá," "Rua Vitória," "Futuro," "Carta de Ano Novo," and "Da Paz Inevitável." The album's lyrical themes explore introspection, saudade, and the search for peace, often drawing from his experiences abroad and his connection to Brazilian culture.
