Gabriela de Paula Pontes Melim, known mononymously as Gabriela, is a Brazilian singer and songwriter who first gained recognition as a member of the popular group Melim. Born on July 2, 1994, in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, she began her musical journey at 15, performing in local samba circles. Her career took a significant turn when she joined her brothers Diogo and Rodrigo to form Melim, releasing their self-titled debut EP in 2017, which included the hit song "Meu Abrigo." The group went on to release several successful albums and performed at major festivals, including Rock in Rio in 2019.

In 2024, Gabriela embarked on a solo career, adopting her mononym as her stage name. Her debut solo album, also titled "Gabriela," features thirteen tracks that explore themes of paths, obstacles, freedom, and passion, blending MPB with her signature pop style. This new phase represents a deeper dive into her musical influences and a commitment to expressing her authentic artistic voice. She has embraced independence, distributing her music through Believe, and is actively learning about the music market as a whole.
