Biography
Gabriela Amaral dos Santos, artistically known as Gaby Amarantos, was born in Belém, Pará, on August 1, 1978. She began her musical career in her teens, singing in the choir of the Parish of Santa Teresinha do Menino Jesus and, later, in bars in the capital of Pará. Her deep and smooth voice drew attention, opening doors for her artistic trajectory. Gaby is considered one of the main representatives of tecnobrega, a musical genre that gained great projection in Northern Brazil, and is known for her exuberance, extravagant costumes, and for mixing the rhythm with Amazonian, pop, and electronic influences.
In the 2000s, Gaby Amarantos gained notoriety as the lead singer of Banda Tecno Show, one of the pioneer groups of tecnobrega, with which she released hits and won over audiences in Pará and other regions of the North. In 2012, she took a significant step in her solo career with the release of the album "Treme", which included the hit "Ex Mai Love", the opening theme of the soap opera "Cheias de Charme", catapulting her to national success. Her song "Hoje Eu Tô Solteira" also became a major hit, earning her the nickname "Beyoncé do Pará".
In addition to her musical career, Gaby Amarantos expanded her work into other artistic fields, becoming a TV show host on programs like "Saia Justa" and "The Voice Kids", and acting in soap operas like "Além da Ilusão". In 2023, Gaby Amarantos celebrated a milestone in her career by winning the Latin Grammy in the "Best Portuguese Language Roots Album" category with the album "TecnoShow", consolidating her legacy as a multifaceted artist and an important figure in Brazilian music.
