Biography

Formed in the early 1990s in the Zona Norte of São Paulo, the group Gamação emerged as a significant force in the Brazilian pagode scene. Their debut work, released in 1993, featured prominent vocalists Alexandre José Silva (Alê) and Ademir Fogaça, with notable tracks like "Emoção de Amar," "Grão Sabor," and "Percepção." Alê's life was tragically cut short in 2004, but Fogaça continued to be recognized as a talented composer.

In 2000, Gamação underwent a lineup change, bringing in Vagninho, formerly of Badabawê, as the lead vocalist. This era saw the success of the song "Beijando," composed by Ademir Fogaça. The group's discography includes albums such as "Bilhetes Amorosos" (2002) and "Gamação ao Vivo" (2004), solidifying their presence in the pagode genre. Their music often features themes of love, relationships, and everyday life, resonating with a wide audience.

Gamação has continued to evolve, with various lineup changes and a commitment to releasing new material. In 2020, they celebrated their 25th anniversary with the EP "Amanheceu" (released in 2021) and have since been active with performances and new projects, including a planned DVD titled "Pagode do Gama." Their enduring career showcases a dedication to pagode music and a connection with their fanbase, maintaining their relevance in the Brazilian music landscape.
