Biography

Gang do Eletro is a Brazilian music group formed in Belém, Pará, in November 2008. The band was founded by DJ Waldo Squash and composer Maderito, initially with the intention of playing at parties. Their music is characterized by a fusion of tecnomelody with European electronic music, creating a style they termed "eletromelody". The group's lyrics often reflect the daily life and suburban reality of Belém.

In 2010, their debut album was recognized by the newspaper O Globo as one of the 10 most important albums of the year. Gang do Eletro gained national recognition, winning the Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira for "Revelation Artist" in 2012. They have also performed at international festivals, including SXSW in Texas, USA. Their music has been featured in Brazilian telenovelas such as "Chiquititas" and "Malhação".

After a hiatus from 2018 to 2023, the original lineup of Gang do Eletro reunited and returned to performing in 2023. Their sound incorporates elements of dance music, cumbia, carimbó, and reggaeton, creating a unique and energetic style that has captivated audiences across Brazil and beyond. They are considered a significant reference in the eletromelody genre.
