Biography

Garage Fuzz is an influential Brazilian punk rock and hardcore band formed in April 1991 in the city of Santos, São Paulo. Emerging from the independent music scene of the 1980s and 1990s alongside contemporaries like Psychic Possessor, the group quickly established themselves as a cornerstone of the Brazilian underground. Throughout their decades-long career, they released a robust discography encompassing studio albums, EPs, and live records, while touring extensively both nationally and internationally.

In 1994, after signing with the Dutch label Roadrunner Records, the band released their debut studio album, Relax in Your Favorite Chair, which was distributed across more than 15 countries. Subsequent releases like Turn The Page... The Season is Changing further solidified their international presence, leading to shared stages with prominent overseas acts as well as extensive touring throughout South America. Over the years, the lineup underwent various transitions, including the departure of longtime frontman Alexandre Cruz and the eventual arrival of vocalist Victor Franciscon.

The group's musical style evolved over time, blending fast-paced hardcore punk with melodic elements of alternative rock and post-hardcore. Notable milestones include their performance at the Lollapalooza Brasil festival in 2012 and independent releases such as Fast Relief. Through persistent dedication to the underground circuit, Garage Fuzz remains one of the most respected independent rock institutions in Brazil, maintaining deep ties to the alternative community alongside bands like Pin Ups.
