Biography

Gel Fernandes is a renowned Brazilian drummer, known for his participation in important national rock bands. His musical career began in the 70s, playing alongside Wander Taffo in the band Memphis. Soon after, he consolidated his talent as the drummer for influential groups such as Os Incríveis, Tutti Frutti, Banda Taffo, and, notably, Secos & Molhados.

In the 80s, Gel Fernandes achieved great prominence as the drummer for Rádio Táxi, a band with which he immortalized hits like "Eva", "Garota Dourada", and "Um Amor de Verão". His performance and technique made him a key figure in the Brazilian rock scene of the decade, opening doors for other artists and consolidating the genre.

In addition to his work with Rádio Táxi, Gel Fernandes also joined Rita Lee's band and participated in several other musical projects, demonstrating his versatility and deep connection with Brazilian music. His career is marked by longevity and a significant contribution to rock and MPB.
