Biography

Gerson Tatini is a Brazilian musician with a notable career in progressive rock and MPB. He studied composition and orchestration at the Faculdade Paulista de Música and also graduated as a sound engineer. His musical journey includes stints in important bands and collaborations with renowned artists.

Tatini was one of the founders of Moto Perpétuo in 1969, alongside Guilherme Arantes, Egídio Conde, Cláudio Lucci, and Diógenes Burani. The group released a single self-titled album in 1974, which became a cult classic of Brazilian progressive rock, known for incorporating elements of Brazilian music into its sound. Following the end of Moto Perpétuo in 1975, Tatini continued his career, working with other artists and projects.

In addition to his participation in Moto Perpétuo, Gerson Tatini also collaborated with other significant names in Brazilian music, such as Secos & Molhados and Rita Lee. He was also a member of the band O Terço and developed work abroad, having lived in Canada for two years, where he refined his musical studies and worked with various ensembles and artists. Tatini also contributes to specialized magazines and composes soundtracks for film and television. In 2024, the surviving members of Moto Perpétuo reunited to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the group's album.
