Biography

Gian & Giovani is a renowned Brazilian sertanejo duo formed by brothers Aparecido dos Reis Morais (Gian) and Marcelo dos Reis Morais (Giovani), originally from the interior of São Paulo state. Emerging in the late 1980s under the guidance of producer Pinócchio, the brothers established themselves as major exponents of the romantic sertanejo generation. Their distinctive vocal blend, combining Gian's soaring delivery with Giovani's deeper tone, helped redefine the genre during its massive commercial boom in the 1990s.

The duo achieved national stardom with their 1990 sophomore album and the monumental hit "Nem Dormindo Consigo Te Esquecer," followed by a string of enduring classics such as "O Grande Amor da Minha Vida (Convite de Casamento)," "Olha Amor," and "1, 2, 3." Throughout their career, they have sold over 10 million records, earned numerous gold and platinum certifications, and performed alongside legendary figures like Roberto Carlos and Zezé Di Camargo & Luciano. After a brief hiatus in the 2010s, Gian & Giovani returned to the stage, continuing to celebrate their rich musical legacy through collaborative projects like Boate Azul with Edson & Hudson and retrospective audiovisual works.

Over nearly four decades of activity, Gian & Giovani have cemented their status as one of the most iconic duos in Brazilian country music history.
