Biography
Gil Lima is a Brazilian singer born in Passagem, Rio Grande do Norte. His musical career began at the age of 11, when he started playing the keyboard for his siblings. By the age of 12, he was already performing in forró bands in Natal, the capital of Rio Grande do Norte. Dissatisfied with staying hidden behind the keyboards, he decided to switch to the electric bass, an instrument that gave him greater visibility with the public.
In 2008, Gil Lima made the decision to dedicate himself entirely to singing. His musical inspiration is referenced by singer Berg Rabelo, an artist who left a mark on the romantic forró scene. This influence is noticeable throughout his career, as he seeks to keep the essence of this musical style alive.
Throughout his career, Gil Lima has been a member of bands such as Gatinha Manhosa and Forró Anjo Azul, consolidating his presence in romantic forró and other subgenres such as piseiro and arrocha. His voice, frequently compared to that of Berg Rabelo, has won over audiences with his interpretation of forró hits and other northeastern rhythms.
