Biography

Glaucia Nasser is a Brazilian singer and songwriter born in Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais. She embarked on her professional musical journey in 2003 with the release of her self-titled debut album. Over the years, she has built a solid independent discography, releasing acclaimed records such as "Bem Demais", "A Vida Num Segundo", and "Vambora". Her distinct vocal delivery and songwriting skills have earned praise from prominent figures in the Brazilian music scene, including Nelson Motta, Ivan Lins, and Roberto Menescal.

Her work quickly transcended national borders when her music was featured on the international compilation "Acoustic Brazil" by the Putumayo label, placing her alongside icons like Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, and Chico Buarque. This international exposure led to notable collaborations, such as her partnership with renowned Latin jazz percussionist Sammy Figueroa on the album "Talisman". Furthermore, she has championed her cultural roots through projects like the album "Em Casa", which honors her Mineiro heritage, and "Um Lugar", dedicated to the favorite songs of Juscelino Kubitschek.

Nasser continues to explore the rich tapestry of Brazilian culture through conceptual tours and recordings, seamlessly blending MPB, samba, and regional elements. Her collaboration with esteemed musicians like Chico Pinheiro highlights her standing within contemporary Brazilian instrumental and vocal music circles. Through her dedication to both independent production and historical musical tributes, she remains a vibrant representative of modern Brazilian artistry.
