Biography

Genival Oliveira Gonçalves, known artistically as GOG, was born in Sobradinho, in the Federal District, in 1965, and built a fundamental path for the consolidation of national rap. Known as the "Poet of National Rap," he began his artistic activities in the late 1980s and released his first official record on the compilation "Rap Ataca", in 1990. Throughout a career spanning more than three decades, he stood out not only for protest and social intervention music, but also for the creation of independent labels, self-management projects, and sociocultural spaces such as Casa GOG.

His discography covers striking albums such as "Tarja Preta" (winner of the Hutúz Award) and "Aviso às Gerações", consolidating partnerships with various exponents of Brazilian music, including Lenine, Natiruts, Zeca Baleiro, and Ellen Oléria. GOG also expanded his work into literature with the release of the book "A Rima Denuncia", uniting the hip hop universe with marginal poetry and social movements of Brazilian peripheries.

Remaining active and innovative, the rapper continued to release acclaimed works, such as the album "Mumm-Rá High Tech", which blends electronic beats and contemporary elements. With a pioneering work structured on the appreciation of urban culture, GOG remains one of the most respected and influential voices of hip hop in Brazil.
