Carlos Sebastião Vasconcelos Prata, widely known as Grande Otelo Filho, was a Brazilian actor and dramatist. Born on August 13, 1955, he was the son of the legendary Brazilian actor, comedian, singer, and composer Grande Otelo (Sebastião Bernardes de Souza Prata). Following in his father's footsteps, Grande Otelo Filho dedicated a significant part of his life to the performing arts, particularly in cinema and theater.
Grande Otelo Filho's acting career included roles in several Brazilian films and television productions. His last known work was in the 2021 telenovela "Gênesis" on TV Record, where he portrayed a priest. He also appeared in the documentary "Othelo, o Grande," which celebrated his father's life and career. Despite facing financial difficulties throughout his life, especially after his father's death in 1993, he maintained his presence in the artistic scene.
His life was marked by personal challenges, including periods of homelessness, as reported in the mid-2010s.
