Biography

Gregorio Gananian is a Brazilian filmmaker and artist, known for his work in experimental cinema and music videos. Born in São Paulo in 1984, Gananian has established himself as a prominent figure in contemporary Brazilian audiovisual production.

His career began to gain traction in the early 2010s, with projects such as "Sinfonia de Jards" in 2011, a performance directed for the musician Jards Macalé. This collaboration marked the beginning of a fruitful relationship with Macalé, leading to Gananian directing the music video for "Trevas" in 2019. He also co-directed the film "Aquele que viu o abismo" with Negro Leo, which premiered in 2023 and won an award at the Tiradentes Film Festival.

Gananian co-founded the production company Zaum Cinema with Danielly Kaufmann in 2013. Through Zaum Cinema, he has produced a diverse range of works, including the documentary "Inaudito" (2017), which explores the life and work of the influential Tropicália guitarist Lanny Gordin. His artistic vision often blends music, visual arts, and cinema, creating unique and immersive experiences for the audience.
