Biography

Grupo Arte Final is a Brazilian samba and pagode musical ensemble, formed in São Paulo in 1980. The origin of the name dates back to the profession of one of its members, Zé Carlinhos, who was a design draftsman and used the term "arte final" (final art) to designate the completion of a project. The group's members had a strong connection to São Paulo samba schools, such as Camisa Verde e Branco, Barroca Zona Sul, and Vai-Vai, which contributed to the richness of their musicianship.

Throughout their career, Grupo Arte Final released several albums, including "Pagode Esperto" (1987), "Reunião de Amigos" (1990), "Renascer" (1993), "Alto Astral" (1994), and "Seleção de Sucessos" (2002). The album "Reunião de Amigos", from 1989, was re-released in 1990 and is remembered for its good music and arrangements, with an emphasis on the brass and choir sections. The production of this record featured the participation of musicians like Pique Riverti and François Lima, who were also part of the group's backing band.

Grupo Arte Final had its lineup marked by the loss of some of its members over the years, such as lead vocalist and composer Ivan, who passed away in 2009, and member Baianinho, whose passing was announced in 2025. Despite the losses, the group maintained its musical activity, demonstrating the strength and resilience of its members. The group also had the collaboration of producers like Jorge Hamilton, who was one of Grupo Arte Final's producers.
