Biography

Anderson Clayton Damásio de Paula, artistically known as Guga de Paula, was born in Salvador, Bahia, on May 2, 1982. The singer and songwriter began his most prominent journey in 2001, when he was invited by Márcio Victor to join the baiano pagode group Psirico, sharing lead vocals and participating in the consolidation of regional hits such as "Pianinho" and "Ai". After leaving Psirico in 2005 and working on other projects, Guga took over as the lead vocalist of the band Babado Novo in August 2008, where he recorded a live DVD in Porto Seguro and worked on heavily played singles in Bahia, such as "Tchau, Bye Bye" and "Saudade", the latter composed by Henrique Cerqueira.

Throughout his career, the artist also ventured into television, participating in the reality show O Trio in 2012, and later founded the group Os Mininu Ki Toca in 2016 alongside Roque de Holanda and Moisés Sande, releasing tracks like "Deixa" and "Faz o Quadradinho" before the band ended its activities in 2019. His career is marked by strong involvement in the axé music and baiano pagode scene, having been part of important lineups in Bahia's carnival music.
