Biography

Gustavo Galo is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and composer, born in São Paulo on June 15, 1985. He gained prominence as a member of the São Paulo-based big band Trupe Chá de Boldo, with whom he released several albums, including "Bárbaro" (2010), "Nave manhã" (2012), and "Verso" (2017). Galo's solo career began to flourish with the release of his debut album "Asa" in 2014, which was praised for its raw, indie-rock sound and poetic lyrics. His subsequent solo works, such as "Sol" (2016) and "Se tudo ruir deixa entrar o ruído" (2019), continued to explore themes of love, daily life, and existentialism with a distinctive minimalist and intense style.

In recent years, Galo's music and life have been profoundly influenced by his move to the Serra da Mantiqueira region and the birth of his son, Lírio. This transition is beautifully reflected in his double album "folhas_fruto" (2024), with "folhas" presenting a more minimalist sound inspired by nature and "fruto" featuring a larger band and more experimental sonic explorations. He has collaborated with numerous notable Brazilian artists, including Juçara Marçal, Bruna Lucchesi, Ná Ozetti, and Negro Léo, further enriching his musical tapestry.
