Biography

Haikaiss is a prominent Brazilian hip hop group established in São Paulo in 2006. The collective is composed of members SPVic, Spinardi, Pedro Qualy, and DJ RM, having originally featured Ursso and DJ Sleep in earlier iterations of the lineup. Over nearly two decades of activity, the group has established itself as a major force within the Brazilian rap scene, operating through their own independent label, Ésseponto Records, before signing with Som Livre in 2019.

Throughout their career, the group has released multiple acclaimed albums, including Incognito Orchestra, Perfil, and Teto Baixo, showcasing a versatile style of national hip hop. Their 2017 single Raplord achieved massive commercial success, entering streaming charts and even being featured on the international video game soundtrack for Need for Speed: Payback. This milestone propelled them onto major festival stages such as Lollapalooza and Planeta Atlântida, cementing their influence alongside other prominent national acts like Cortesia da Casa.

Despite their extensive musical contributions and cultural impact on Brazilian rap, the group has also faced public controversy. Notably, in August 2023, during a performance in São Carlos, vocalist Spinardi was involved in an altercation where he physically assaulted an audience member. Nevertheless, Haikaiss remains a foundational pillar of modern Brazilian hip hop culture, recognized for their consistent output and longevity.
