Biography

Harry was a Brazilian rock band formed in Santos, São Paulo, in 1985. Considered pioneers of the industrial and electrorock scene in Brazil, they were also among the first Brazilian rock bands to sing in English. Initially named Harry And The Addicts, the band soon simplified its name to Harry and also performed under the moniker Yardrats.

Their sound was characterized by experimental and electronic rock, drawing influences from European bands like Kraftwerk, Joy Division, and New Order, as well as the British alternative circuit. The band's early work featured Portuguese lyrics, notably on their first album, with the participation of singer Denise Tesluki and producer Roberto Verta. Subsequent releases were sung exclusively in English.

Harry's discography includes albums like "Fairy Tales" (1988), "Vessels' Town" (1990), and the compilation "Chemical Archives" (1994). In 2006, a box set titled "Taxidermy – Boxing Harry" was released, compiling their previous works along with bonus tracks. The band's innovative approach to blending rock with electronic elements and their early adoption of English lyrics cemented their status as a seminal act in Brazilian electronic music.
