Biography

Hateen is a Brazilian rock band formed in São Paulo in 1994 by Rodrigo Koala, Japinha, and Cesinha Santisteban. Initially, the group stood out in the independent scene by recording their first albums entirely in English, such as Hydrophobia and Dear Life, consolidating their path in traditional São Paulo music venues like Hangar 110.

Starting in 2006, with the release of the album Procedimentos de Emergência through Arsenal Music, produced by Rick Bonadio, the band began incorporating songs in Portuguese, influenced by the success of Rodrigo Koala's compositions for CPM 22. This new phase brought them great national projection with hit singles like "1997" and "Quem Já Perdeu Um Sonho Aqui?", in addition to participating in the project MTV ao Vivo: 5 Bandas de Rock alongside groups like Fresno and NX Zero.

Over more than two decades on the road, Hateen underwent several lineup changes and released striking albums, including Obrigado Tempestade and Não Vai Mais Ter Tristeza Aqui, reaffirming their relevance in the Brazilian independent rock and hardcore scene. In 2018, they immortalized their history with the release of the DVD Obrigado Hangar 110, funded by crowdfunding, celebrating the closure of the emblematic venue that shaped the country's underground scene.
