Headhunter D.C. is a Brazilian death metal band formed in Salvador, Bahia, in 1987. The band's name, 'D.C.', is an abbreviation for 'Death Cult'. They are considered one of Brazil's longest-running death metal acts and have maintained a consistent presence in the underground scene since their inception. Their music is characterized by a traditionalist blend of black, death, and thrash metal, drawing influences from early Brazilian extreme metal bands like Sarcófago and Sepultura, as well as international acts such as Morbid Angel and Deicide.

Throughout their career, Headhunter D.C. has released several studio albums, EPs, and live recordings. Their early work, including the albums "Born… Suffer… Die" (1991) and "Punishment At Dawn" (1993), was released on the influential Cogumelo Records label, establishing them as a notable force in the South American extreme metal scene. Despite periods of reduced activity, the band has continued to release new material, showcasing a refined sound with improved production while retaining their core old-school death metal ethos.

Headhunter D.C.'s lyrical themes often revolve around anti-Christianity, death, hatred, and suffering, contributing to their dark and aggressive musical identity.
