Biography

Helio Ziskind is a prominent Brazilian musician and composer, born in São Paulo on September 6, 1955. He pursued his education in composition at the Department of Music of ECA/USP between 1975 and 1982, establishing a strong foundation in classical and contemporary musical structures. During his career, he became an influential figure in Brazilian children's music and television sound design, notably as a musical consultant for TV Cultura from 1985 to 1994.

Throughout his career, Ziskind shaped the auditory landscape of Brazilian television by composing iconic themes for celebrated programs such as Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum, Cocoricó, Rá-Tim-Bum, and X-Tudo. His work extended to journalistic and cultural shows like Roda Viva, Repórter Eco, and Vitrine, alongside memorable commercial jingles for major brands. He also left his mark on the vanguard scene as a member of Grupo Rumo, participating in projects like their 2010 album Sopa de concha, and collaborating with cultural figures such as José Miguel Wisnik.

In addition to his television work, Ziskind has released acclaimed children's albums including Meu Pé Meu Querido Pé and O Gigante da Floresta, while also venturing into thematic projects like the São Paulo Futebol Clube-inspired album Coração de 5 Pontas. His multifaceted contributions encompass digital guides for major art exhibitions, radio series analyzing contemporary classical music, and academic initiatives in sound design.
