Biography

Heróis da Resistência was a prominent Brazilian rock band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1986. The group emerged after the tumultuous departure of bassist and composer Leoni from the band Kid Abelha, joining forces with Jorge Shy on guitar, Lulu Martin on keyboards, and Alfredo Dias Gomes on drums. With this initial lineup and production by Liminha, the group achieved great national prominence and earned a Gold Record with their self-titled debut album, scoring memorable radio hits and soap opera soundtracks, such as "Só Pro Meu Prazer" and "Dublê de Corpo".

Throughout their trajectory, the band went through several lineup changes and released two more studio albums via Warner Music. The second record, titled Religio, was recorded in Los Angeles in 1988, while the third work, Heróis Três, embraced sounds closer to hard rock. The group ended its activities in 1993, when the members pursued separate paths and Leoni began his solo career.

The group's sound marked the 1980s national rock scene and influenced the development of the genre in the country. Renounced names of Brazilian music like Liminha participated directly in the construction of their artistic identity, consolidating the legacy of Heróis da Resistência in the history of Brazilian rock.
