Biography

Holly Tree was a Brazilian punk rock band formed in São Paulo in 1995. The initial idea arose when friends George, Zé, and Tito were only 11 years old and, uninterested in soccer, decided to express their musical skills through metal, forming the band "Revolter DIE", which would later become Holly Tree.

In the beginning, George was the vocalist, Zé the guitarist, and Tito the bassist. After several drummer changes, the lineup solidified with the name change to Holly Tree in 1996. George also took over the guitar, Zé took on drums and backing vocals, and Tito remained on bass. The trio's musical influences were heavily rooted in the punk rock of bands like Rancid, Green Day, Ramones, The Queers, The Clash, Toy Dolls, and Operation Ivy.

The band released their first work, the demo "Mom's Tea Party", which opened doors to larger festivals, such as the "Halloween Rock Festival", where they won awards for "best performance" and "second best band". In 1998, they released the album "Running Out Of Sense", which blended punk rock with ska influences. The group also had the opportunity to perform at the renowned CBGB in New York and opened shows for bands like Buzzcocks and UK Subs. The band ended its activities in 2004.
