Biography

Ian Ramil is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, and music producer born in Porto Alegre on September 3, 1985. He comes from a renowned musical lineage, being the son of singer-songwriter Vitor Ramil and the nephew of the famous duo Kleiton & Kledir. Before dedicating himself fully to music, he studied scenic arts and worked as an actor and director for several years.

His debut album, titled Ian, was released in 2014 and earned him the APCA Award for Revelation Artist. He followed this success in 2015 with his second album, Derivacivilização, which brought him widespread acclaim and won the Latin Grammy for Best Brazilian Rock Album in 2016. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with notable alternative acts such as Apanhador Só and performed alongside his talented family members in the special project Casa Ramil.

Musically, his style blends folk elements, pop melodies, and experimental textures, often praised for its unexpected rhythm shifts and creative arrangements. His later work includes the 2023 album Tetein, inspired by the birth of his daughter. Sharing artistic traits with Brazilian icons like Vitor Ramil and Apanhador Só, he remains a distinctive voice in contemporary Brazilian independent music.
