Biography

Paulo Eduardo Salvador, better known by his stage name Ice Blue, is a prominent Brazilian rapper and founding member of the influential rap group Racionais MC's. Born in São Paulo, he established the group alongside fellow icons Mano Brown, Edi Rock, and KL Jay, helping shape the landscape of Brazilian hip hop and street culture. Throughout his career, he has been deeply involved in social activism, organizing festivals, and promoting the hip-hop movement across São Paulo.

Beyond his groundbreaking work with Racionais MC's on classic albums like Sobrevivendo no Inferno, Ice Blue has expanded his artistic and professional endeavors. He co-hosts the radio program "Balanço Rap" alongside KL Jay, has contributed to successful tracks like "Diário de um Detento", and ventured into entrepreneurship with his own clothing line. In 2020, he joined the podcast "B3" alongside Benjamin Back, João Marcello Bôscoli, and André Barcinski, and he has also prepared solo work including the album Preso Na Teia in partnership with RZO.

In recognition of his cultural and social impact, Ice Blue received an honorary doctorate, Doutor Honoris Causa, from the Institute of Philosophy and Human Sciences at Unicamp in March 2025. Outside of his musical career, he is an accomplished martial artist, holding a third-degree black belt in jiu-jitsu under André Garapa and competing in the sport. His enduring dedication to music, community organization, and martial arts cements his legacy as a vital figure in Brazilian culture.
