Biography
IDLIBRA is the musical project of Libra Lima, a transdisciplinary artist and independent curator from Pernambuco. She is a co-curator of the Coquetel Molotov Festival and has been working as a DJ since 2016, joining the new generation of artists gaining prominence in the Brazilian underground scene. Her sonic identity is described as "woody and fiery," building energetic and unpredictable atmospheres through a versatile musical research that flirts with rhythms from the Global South, especially peripheral electronic subgenres from Latin America.
With a clear focus on sound textures, IDLIBRA uses electronic music as the foundation for her research, exploring genres such as bass music, afrobeat, and various branches of Brazilian funk. In 2023, she released her debut self-authored EP, "Muganga," which was critically acclaimed and voted one of the main releases of the year by publications like Revista Noize. The EP "Muganga" blends "fiery" rhythms with references to Brazilian electronic music, utilizing strident drums and synths, as well as samples from artists like The Prodigy.
IDLIBRA has collaborated with several renowned artists, including Juçara Marçal, Badsista, Carlos do Complexo, MC GW, and Clementaum. Her work has gained international projection, with releases on labels such as Core Records (USA), Minuit Rapide (France), and Applause (France), in addition to performances at festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival and Fusion Festival. In October 2025, she released the EP "Contracurra," which explores sounds such as drum n' bass, vogue, and ghetto techno, featuring collaborations with Tremsete, EVYLiN, and BADSISTA.
