Born in São Paulo, Brazil, on January 6, 1981, Igor Willcox is a highly regarded drummer, composer, and producer with a rich musical lineage. His father, Paulo César Willcox, was a conductor, arranger, pianist, and vibraphonist, while his mother, Sonia Willcox, is a singer. This familial immersion in music profoundly shaped his artistic development from a young age. Willcox began playing drums at 14 in 1995 and later honed his skills under notable teachers like Alexandre Faccas and the renowned Swiss drummer Jojo Mayer.

Throughout his career, Igor Willcox has collaborated with an extensive list of national and international artists across various genres, including pop, jazz, and Brazilian music. His discography features performances and recordings with prominent figures such as Jimmie Bo Horn, Guilherme Arantes, Anitta, Daniela Mercury, and jazz legends like Bob Mintzer and David Binney. He has also released several albums as a leader with his own groups, the Igor Willcox Quartet and HII Trio, gaining international recognition for their innovative jazz fusion sound.
