Biography

Imaginasamba is a Brazilian pagode group formed in the early 2000s in the municipality of Nova Iguaçu, in Rio de Janeiro. Initially, the project arose from a gathering of friends who played for fun in local nightclubs, with their main musical references being names like Pique Novo, Jorge Aragão, Swing & Simpatia, and Almir Guineto. In 2002, the group released their first studio album, entitled "Idéias do Amor", which featured standout tracks such as the title track, "Duvido", and "Pára de Pirraça".

Over the years, Imaginasamba consolidated its place in the national pagode scene with a sequence of successful albums, such as "Proposta" (2004) and the live album released by Warner Music in 2007. The group's journey was marked by important moments, including the recording of their first live DVD, "Imagina 10 Anos" (2013), produced by Bruno Cardoso, lead singer of Sorriso Maroto, and Lelê. The lineup underwent changes over time, notably the departure and returns of lead singers like Suel, in addition to the subsequent entry of singers like Juninho and Marcel Vale.

The group maintained high productivity in the following decades, releasing expressive albums and audiovisual projects such as "Antes e Depois" (2019) and "Imagina 20 Anos" (2023), celebrating two decades of a career with guest appearances by major exponents of the genre, such as Ferrugem, Dilsinho, and Grupo Revelação. With dozens of hits placed on radio stations and digital platforms, Imaginasamba remains one of the contemporary exponents of Brazilian romantic pagode.
