Iracy Serra was a Brazilian composer and one of the founders of the Salgueiro samba school in Rio de Janeiro. He was known for his velvety voice, earning him the nickname "the Cauby Peixoto of the hill." Serra was the father of notable musicians Almir Guineto and Mestre Louro.

Serra's contributions to Brazilian music include his work as a composer, with songs like "Eu Vou Sorrir" (co-written with Carivaldo da Motta) and "Casa Do Pequeno Jornaleiro" (co-written with Pindonga, also known as Carivaldo da Mota). His compositions were featured on albums such as "Encontro Com a Velha Guarda" and "História das Escolas de Samba - Salgueiro."

His musical legacy is intertwined with the vibrant samba culture of Brazil, particularly through his association with the Salgueiro school. His work as a composer and his familial connection to other musicians highlight his impact on the Brazilian music scene.
