Irani de Oliveira was a prolific Brazilian composer whose work spanned various musical genres such as sambas, corridos, boleros, songs, marches, and waltzes. His musical career began in 1942 with the recording of his first composition, the march "Bebê chorão", by Antenógenes Silva. Throughout his career, Irani de Oliveira collaborated with several renowned artists and composers, such as Ari Monteiro, Altamiro Carrilho, Rosalino Senos, Laurentino Azevedo, and Antenógenes Silva, among others. His compositions were recorded by names like Carlos Galhardo, Emilinha Borba, Carequinha, and Trio Irakitan, solidifying his presence in the Brazilian popular music scene.

One of his most frequent partners was Ari Monteiro, with whom he composed sambas like "Uma cruz na estrada" and "Meu fracasso", both recorded by Carlos Galhardo in 1953. Other notable partnerships include "O mundo é um pandeiro" with Rosalino Senos, recorded by Quatro Ases e Um Coringa, and "Parabéns, parabéns" with Altamiro Carrilho, which became a classic at children's birthday parties. Irani de Oliveira also explored festive themes in his compositions, such as "Lá vem Papai Noel" and "É mamãe".

Irani de Oliveira had around a hundred recorded compositions and released albums with his Children's Choir and Altamiro Carrilho's little band, such as "Enquanto você espera" and "A Quinta da Boa Vista". His work contributed significantly to the diversity and richness of Brazilian popular music, leaving a legacy of songs that spanned generations.
