Biography
Jaloo, stage name of Jade de Souza Melo, is a singer, songwriter, DJ, and music producer born in Castanhal. The artist established herself as one of the main exponents of electronic and indie music from Pará, bringing a sonic identity that moves across various contemporary genres. After a period of hiatus, Jaloo returned to the spotlight affirming her non-binary gender-fluid identity and adopting feminine pronouns.
The artist's trajectory began to gain projection in 2010 with the creation of remixes and mashups that combined references of national and international music, such as partnerships and mixes with names like Flora Matos and MC Carol. In 2015, she released her debut album titled #1, which mixed elements of indietronica, tecnobrega, and indie pop. Throughout the following years, she expanded her discography with prominent collaborative projects, including works with MC Tha, Lucas Santtana, and BADSISTA.
In addition to her solo career, Jaloo was part of the project Os Amantes in partnership with the band Strobo and directed and produced the music for the album Purakê by singer Gaby Amarantos. In 2023, her record MAU was consecrated among the 50 best national albums by the São Paulo Association of Art Critics, reaffirming her importance in the Brazilian music scene. Beyond music, the artist also expanded her artistic work into cinema, debuting as an actress in the film Paraíso Perdido.
