Biography

Jerry Espíndola is a Brazilian musician born in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, in 1964. Coming from a celebrated musical family as the youngest brother of Tetê, Geraldo, Celito, and Alzira Espíndola, he was immersed in the artistic environment from an early age and witnessed his family's success in São Paulo. During his career, he became a prominent figure in the development of the "polca-rock" genre, fusing traditional regional rhythms with contemporary rock aesthetics.

In the 1980s, Espíndola moved to São Paulo where he joined the vanguard rock band Incontroláveis, sharing stages with notable groups like Titãs and RPM. He also collaborated closely with his sister Tetê Espíndola as a backing vocal during her victory at the Festival dos Festivais with "Escrito nas Estrelas," and formed creative partnerships with avant-garde icons such as Itamar Assumpção and Arrigo Barnabé. His solo debut album, Pop Pantanal, was released in 2000, followed by the groundbreaking collaborative album Polca-rock in 2002 with the band Croa.

Throughout his career, Jerry has continued to innovate through various projects, albums, and cultural initiatives in the Pantanal region, including Vértice and Atlantida Pantanal. He has worked alongside prominent Brazilian artists such as Paulinho Moska, Gabriel Sater, and Chico César, solidifying his legacy as an essential innovator of regional Brazilian pop and rock music.
