Biography

João Fera was born in Seropédica on September 28, 1953, and began his musical journey in his teens. He had his first contact with music through acoustic guitar lessons in Juiz de Fora, before joining his first band, The Black Birds, and later the ensemble URB7, where he transitioned from guitar to keyboards.

Throughout his career, he accompanied important names in Brazilian music, notably his partnership with singer Wando starting in 1982, a period during which he toured various regions of the country. This musical background opened doors for him to be recommended in 1986 by drummer João Barone to join Os Paralamas do Sucesso, one of the leading groups in national rock.

Officially debuting with Os Paralamas do Sucesso in October 1986, João Fera established himself as the band's trusted keyboardist, remaining in the lineup to the present day. His important contribution to the history of Brazilian music was immortalized in the biography written by his son, Raphael Silva Gonçalves.
