Biography

Joao Neto e Frederico is a prominent Brazilian sertanejo duo formed by brothers João Neto Nunes and Frederico Augusto Silva Nunes, both born in Goiânia. Heavily influenced by their father and grandfather from an early age, the brothers initially performed with their younger sibling in the trio Rouxinóis de Goiás. Before committing entirely to music, they pursued higher education as requested by their family, with João Neto earning a degree in veterinary medicine and Frederico in agronomy.

The duo officially launched their career with the release of their debut album, Esperando Por Um Sonho, in 1998. Over the years, they gained nationwide recognition through successful albums and high-energy live recordings, notably their breakthrough 2007 acoustic project released via EMI and subsequent chart-topping hits. Their music has frequently been featured on popular television soap opera soundtracks, expanding their reach across Brazil.

Throughout their extensive career, João Neto e Frederico have collaborated with numerous notable figures in the Brazilian music scene, including Bruno & Marrone, Cristiano Araújo, and Gusttavo Lima. Their modern approach to sertanejo incorporates diverse rhythms while maintaining deep roots in traditional styles, cementing their legacy as one of the enduring acts of the genre.
