Biography

The Jobim Trio is a Brazilian musical group formed by Daniel Jobim (piano and vocals), Paulo Jobim (acoustic guitar and vocals) and Paulo Braga (drums). The formation pays homage to the legacy of Tom Jobim, Daniel's grandfather and Paulo's father, one of the greatest names in Brazilian popular music and one of the creators of bossa nova. The trio stands out for presenting a repertoire that revisits Tom Jobim's classics, as well as exploring compositions from Clube da Esquina and unreleased works.

The group gained notoriety upon releasing, in 2008, the CD "Novas bossas", in partnership with Milton Nascimento. This album, which celebrated 50 years of bossa nova, featured classics like "Chega de Saudade" and a composition by Daniel Jobim, "Dias azuis". The collaboration with Milton Nascimento extended to international tours, solidifying the trio's presence on the musical scene.

With a sound that combines the smoothness and harmonic complexity characteristic of Tom Jobim's work, the Jobim Trio has performed in various venues in Brazil and abroad. The formation, which inherited the musical sensitivity of its illustrious ancestor, continues to disseminate Tom Jobim's work, keeping the flame of bossa nova and Brazilian music alive.
